Is HippoAPI compatible with the OpenAI SDK?
For supported OpenAI-compatible endpoints, set the HippoAPI base URL and API key in the SDK, then use the exact model identifier shown in the catalog. Model-specific capabilities and parameters can differ.
How is usage billed?
Billing follows the live model rate and billing mode. Depending on the model, charges can use input or output tokens, requests, cache units, images, audio, video, or another published unit. Confirm actual charges in Usage Logs.
Can I switch models without changing SDKs?
Usually yes for models available through the same compatible endpoint: keep the base URL and key, then change the model identifier. Test parameters, output format, context limits, and tool behavior before production switching.
Why can an enabled model still return an error?
Capacity, provider availability, account limits, key restrictions, rate limits, request format, or unsupported parameters can affect a request. Keep the request identifier and review the troubleshooting docs before retrying with bounded backoff.
How do I add wallet balance?
Open Wallet in the console and choose cryptocurrency payment. Follow the hosted checkout instructions for the exact asset, network, amount, and order. Balance is credited only after verified payment status.
What data should I send to a model?
Send only data you are authorized to process. Avoid secrets and regulated or highly sensitive data unless your organization has reviewed the selected model path and completed suitable written terms.
